Hi guys.

Have you lot ever had any dealings with this particular car ? Is it any good ?

Anythin to lookt out for ? what should i be asking ? I have seen and read reviews and they all seem positive. Is this a good option ?
 
Great car, nice performance, looks decent. I nearly bought one when my mate worked for Mazda.

The price seems ok too, but always worth haggling. At this price point its more about finding a good car rather than worring about a few hundred quid either side based on its book value.

The Mazda 6 uses MZR engines designed by Mazda, and is based on the Mazda GG / Ford CD3 platform.

The ford CD3 is used for several ford vehicles, but the mondeo isnt one of them, but all of them are american.

Ford's relationship with mazda was one for getting european cars into its lineup in the U.S. They didnt know how to make european cars so set up a joint partnership with Mazda to make european-esque cars for the US market, but not actually european cars. They have got the Focus over there, but again modified for the US market. I believe they are also now trying to get the fiesta noticed over there too.

Ford use Mazdas 2.3 Engine (the engine that is turbocharged and put in the 3 MPS) in its range, and Mazda uses the Duratec 3.0 V6 (as found in the mondeo) in the US Mazda 6.

As for the 6, its typical mondeo / vectra fare. Very reliable however. My dad has had 5 of them over there years (going back to the Mazda 626 etc..) and loves them. Definately recommend taking a look, get the price right and get a good example and they are an excellent alternative to the Mondeo / Vectra.
 
The car was originally up for £3295 with the MOT until June.

We have a knackered P Reg Polo 1.4 Sport, it really is on its last legs. I asked him if he would take £295 for the polo and put a 12 month MOT upon purchase, he eventually agreed.

I do like the look of them and they seem to have a nice level of equipment throughout the range.

Plus the fact he would take the Polo off our hands is a bonus. I wasnt really bothered about what he would accept for it. We need it gone.
 
The common rail diesels in the Mazda 6 are even more unreliable than the Ford TDCi engines. Similar sort of problems but more costly - injectors, fuel pumps, clutches, EGR issues, sensor issues, idling problems, rough running etc. It had a big knock on effect on residual for those diesels - the trade doesn't them because of the big bills that they can produce. The petrols are okay but I'd steer well clear of any high mileage Mazda6 diesel.

confirms the above about the diesels being notoriously unreliable. Get a TS2 (its the 2nd top spec after the sport) and find a petrol and you'll be safe as houses.
