MB BIOS vs GPU clock - real or random higher clocks?

Hi big man :),
I tested GTX980 second time at air. Condition were very similar (around +22 C in room) and two diference were new motherboard BIOS at R5E and my second 5960x. OC of GPU were better, around +150 MHz at memory clocks and +50 MHz at GPU core. GPU stock cooled. Wtf? Do you have some similar experience (settings at GPU were the same - voltages, LLC etc)?
 
Sure man!! Some CPU have stronger lanes boards better PCI X tuning and delivery of power through the PCI X to the PLL ETC.

ZZolio at MOA coudl only do 1700 or similar on his 780ti Lightening. Changed CPU at home everything else in the system the same 1900. For sure this is real.
