Which charge as much as a main dealer anyway..

No they dont, they charge 70 quid an hour and 25% less for parts.

So that puts you 50 quid an hour in front before they start on parts.

Do you really care that much about £200 a year? Especially on a £25k car....

Not really, but the OP did seem to care about costs.

Also i will be honest, when things go wrong i would rather pay a good indy 900 quid than a main dealer 1500 for example.

Just as a point of interest, we've just had a Audi A6 TDi V6 in at work, needs 3 valves replacing, all four cams, rocker covers, cambelt kit etc. We rung up our genuine VAG parts supplier who quoted prices and said they would ring back to confirm. Turns out, most of the bits they were out of stock on, so they needed to get them from a main dealer if we needed them asap...and the price literally doubled to over a grand...for the same parts!!!.

Yes he does care about £200 quid a year. Because its £200 a year more than any of his other daily cars have ever cost to service on their most expensive services. His toy car is a bit more special, so he expects the prices to be higher. But £200 per year more than the most expensive Main Dealer Inspection II with extras he's ever had. He doesn't begrudge spending money on it if it's needed, but the Inspection II was needed at around 80K miles, whereas this car has only done 32k. And to top it off, they'll give him a C180 CDI estate to 'play' with while they run away and count the money they stole from him.
