MBA - Recovery - Lion/Mountain Lion upgrade

If I get a MBA soon it will ship with Lion, as Mountain Lion is due next month the upgrade is likely to come in the form of a MAS redemption code. Which is ideal as I can use it on my desktop too.

My query is after upgrading via the MAS does it also update the recovery partition the MBA uses too?

I also remember there being something about the MBA's that shipped with Lion using a slightly different version number and required a separate image? Anyone with recollection of this advise if I'm better of with a ML update via redemption or having the MBA ship with ML?

Yes.

Even if you have the MBA ship with L it will/should be possible to clean install from ML so it doesn't matter either way. Me personally I would wait till it ships with ML but it doesn't matter.

Unlikely. Lion is tied to the machine it shipped with, not the Apple account. I'd expect them to do the same with ML upgrades.
