Lo all,

Is there still a driver issue with this combination? I'm about to order both and would like 64bit windows but don't want any problems running it on my MBP.

Cheers

cheers :D i don't get in from work until 6pm, but i'll start installing vista while i cooked me tea :p

i presume you mean via bootcamp?

Side Note: I ordered 4gb (£65 with postage) upgrade for my MBP for this very reason, so i'd like to know how it runs myself ;)

EDIT: Do you know where to get the Vista driver btw?

Yeah no worries about time mate, I'm going to have to wait a few weeks while the laptop is shipped hehe.

Funnily enough I'm doing the exact same thing; getting RAM and OS from OCUK and running Vista via bootcamp.

AFAIK bootcamp comes with all of the windows drivers on it already. However there were issues with it not having 64bit drivers for the wireless net connection and things like the iSight.

Everything works fine in 32bit Vista, but last I heard there was still a driver issue with 64bit.

Sorry you have to be a guinea pig but thanks again.

I don't mind, I have been meaning to do it since I got my MBP :)

I need it for developing ASP.NET C# so if 64bit doesn't work, i'll need to order a 32bit version.

I'll let you know how it goes! :)

bugger, seems like boot camp doesn't like vista 64bit after all :(

During the driver install it kept coming up with something like:

"unable to start system service, please make sure you are allowed to start system services"

on the plus side, VMWare Fusion does run vista 64bit! so if you need 64bit you'll need to use VMWare for the moment :(

i'll see if I can get my hands on a 32bit version, and try that!

EDIT: Hold on ... i have every thing working apart from the iSight :D still working on that!

Nice one mate thanks again for your efforts. I'll be ordering it today!

I'm not sure about right click though I'm afraid mate. All my googling has come up with is pre-Leopard bootcamp installs when it only supported XP SP2.
