Hi,

My MBP is coming up to its 1 year anniversary and I have already had an email from Apple to remind me that I will need to take out AppleCare to extend the warranty.

Am I right in thinking that AppleCare is about £270? (I'm not in HE and I don't know anyone who is)

I've seen AppleCare for sale on a popular auction site - is this a relatively safe way to buy it? Is AppleCare specific to certain models? (i.e. do I have to buy MBP Applecare, or is there a one-size-fits-all) ?

Thanks for the help. Managed to snag AppleCare for £128 which I was happy about, though when I went through the process for registering it it died on the last step saying "We're Sorry! This part of the site is not available at the moment" or something. When I tried resubmitting the registration form it said that my AppleCare number was already registered?

I looked on the registration site and it shows the following:

Does that mean I'm covered? Will I still get the letter in the post confirming it? I've never used AppleCare before so I'm clueless about this stuff.
