MBP - Backlit Keyboard Disabled?

Just doing some work on my MacBook happy as larry, this has happend before but I have never thought anything of it.. the backlight on the keyboard has turned off and when I try to change the brightness I get some sort of disabled sign.

Im sure a restart will sort this but does anyone have any idea's what this is and why it happens?

your macbook pro knows better than you.. it thinks its too bright for the keyboard to be backlit and have disable the option. If you place your thumb over the sensor which is left of the webcam, it re enables it again.. lol

Its probably to stop people whinging that they don't quite get the amount of battery use they want when they are using the backlit keyboard on full in bright conditions.
