As title, what have you guys found best for cleaning the screen and case? I don't want to touch it with anything until I get some advise, scared of scratching the screen and am not sure if it's coated with anything I'll damage if I use Windowlene etc.

TIA

We use wilko glass cleaner at work when we run out of proper stuff. Haven't had any problems.

The Macbook Cleaning Kit by keepitclean is good, Apple sell it. iKlear is good as well but the keepitclean stuff is a fairly shocking £13 as opposed to a hugely shocking £20 for iKlear and the bottle's bigger.

Both go on and come off better than plain glass polish although this is most likely a placebo.

iKlear's 'ingredients' list is water and anionic surfactants less than 5%

Slightly damp lint free soft cloth, wipe it all over and then dry of with another soft lint free cloth. I've never used anything other than water on any of my screens.

microfiber cleaning cloths are great for this.

Just a spritz of water and it will have anything but the most greasy of marks off.

I find that whenever I use any kind of tap water on the screen, it'll leave a residue. Possible something to do with it being hard, who knows. I tend to use the screen cloth that came with the MacBook to wipe away dust, but for smudges I'd be inclined to use a product as opposed to just water, as it will likely have had the solutes removed and so will prevent smears.
