MBP Dead Pixel

Hi,

I've had my mac for about 14 months now and I've just noticed a dead pixel on the screen. I'm out of the one year warranty so does that mean I'm stuck with it.

Oh just one other thing, I've installed Leopard and I'm getting some weird problems with it. It crashes frequently and airport drops out regularly. Are these known issues or am I just unlucky.

Many Thanks

Mike

The crashes haven't happened to me but the airport dropping out has been happening since late Tiger development - and it is stupidly annoying.

Not sure on the dead pixel front, even if you were under warranty I don't think you would get it replaced for a single pixel. It wouldn't be deemed as important enough, I fear.

They won't do anything about the dead pixel, unless you're willing to pay a lot to get the screen replaced. As said above, even under warranty I doubt they would replace a screen with one dead pixel, more like 5 -7.

How did you install Leopard? Did you do a clean install or upgrade? If you upgraded I recommend backing up and doing a fresh install.

Thats annoying, I'll just have to put up with it then. I use an external 22" monitor with it most of the time so not that big a problem.

I upgraded from the latest release of tiger. You reckon a fresh install will correct the problems. Its just a lot of work as i don't have a removable drive big enough. On that note. How hard is it to install a new HD into a MBP. Only got a 80gb one at the moment. It would be nice if I could up it to a 160gb as I have almost filled that one.

Cheers for the quick responses.
