As per http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18141781 my MacBook Pro had the Nvidia 8600M GT fail on Monday, and yesterday I got it back from having the Logic Board replaced under warranty.
I gave the Apple Store my password so they could login and check everything was working.
When I turned on for the first time the clock had reset to 01:30 (obviously it went to 00:00 when they replaced the logic board).
Also it didn't automatically join my WiFi. When I told it to connect it remembered the password.
Also there was no screensaver set.
Anyways, that's just background.
Within about two minutes of booting it up both fans increase to 6000RPM and it sounds like it's going to take off. It doesn't ever slow back down.
This noise / fan-speed is like it used to be when doing video encoding and it's resting on my jeans, but since the Logic Board replacement it's doing it with just Safari (no flash) open and sat on a desk.
To my touch it's not running hotter than it used to.
iStat Pro is correctly picking up eight probes, and to my eye none are alarming:

Any ideas?
A colleague told me that when he opened up his Mac Mini before he forgot to connect one cable back causing his fans to always be on max.
