MBP Hard drive encryption

Hi all..

I have just aquired a new MBP but i need to enable hardware encryption on the hard drive to secure my data in case of loss or theft.

Anyone know how i do this on Mac OS / or Windows 7 which is also installed via bootcamp.

I know you can encrypt the contents of your home folder on the Mac by enabling file vault under the security tab in system preferences. Not sure about the Windows side of things.

Truecrypt is good, as is PGP Whole Disk Encryption.

If you've an SSD this will kill it's performance....

My mac book pro does have a 128GB SSD.. i wanted to enable Bitlocker in windows 7 but this dosnt appear to function on a mac book pro hardware.

I am now using TrueCrypt.. seems to work fine with Win7 providing i dont use BootCamp.. I have just sinatlled win 7 on a single partition on the MAC. This was suggested as the best method on the TrueCrypt website.

So far so good.
