MBP - how to set up an apple remote to control?

I'm not quite sure I understand?

Am I right in thinking that you have a MBP and an Apple remote and the remote isn't working for software like iTunes, Fontrow etc?

If that's the case then make sure infrared stuff is switched on - which it should be. It could be the battery for the remote but I've never heard of them going...

Other than that I'm afraid I can't really help.

Is there a paper/plastic tab in with the battery possibly? I don't remember if they have one when they're new

Make sure the infra-red port isn't covered, and I agree with Panzer, bit more information needed really!

it is a new mbp? as you can pair your remote to your machine to stop other people's remote from working... I had so much messing with once peoples machines from my remote.

Mine just paired with my MBP from new, and so did the one I bought to replace that (Mid 2007 2.4 15")
