Hello,

My MBP (new style one) keeps waking up! Damn You!!

I close the lid and then after about 20 seconds, it wakes up, then few seconds later, it sleeps. This process is repeated.......

Any ideas?

What do you have connected to your laptop, it might be a device that is waking your computer.

Also, check software update and see if there are any firmware updates.

Ihad this on my new Aluminium Macbook. Was most annoying. I just called Apple and they sent me a new one the next day then arranged to pick up the old one :)

Is yours a new MBP? If it's brand new just get a replacemnt.

Ouch, sounds like a common problem if Apple are recalling them like that...

Two other things...

Try PMU reset Apple + Option + P + R at boot up until the screen goes back to black, then release....

Try an app called PMQueueManager to see if any apps have set your mac to turn on automatically, my iMac had this issue where Elgato EyeTV had set a wakeup every 20 minutes so even on standby/power off it would boot up and it was very annoying trying to sleep with that. The only solution was to use PMQueueManager to delete this as Elgato EyeTV which has the option to wake your machine once an hour for listings checks actually said it was not doing this (turned off) so it must have at some point had a funny one and written the the PMQueue that it should turn on every 20 minutes?

Hope that helps.
