Right im loving my macbook pro! Its been 2 amazing weeks with it! But now iv got windows working propperly on it as well iv been doing a bit of online gaming with left 4 dead (its summer afterall) and iv been trying to work out where the built in mic is... (and if its there at all) as my mates got one on his older style and i feel a bit left out :(

So anyone know where it is and how to make sure its working in vista?

I dunno if it's any different on the newer uni-body MBP's but I beleive it's under the left speaker grille.

No idea how you could test if it's working in Vista, how could you treat your nice new MBP so harshly by putting that on it!? :p

i got one of the new mbp's the 13'' but i think all the sizes will be the same. if you look above the esc key ther should be a grouping of really small holes in the unibody, this i ware the mic is ( i confirmed this by taping it while on a convo to my gf... put it this way she wasent happy lol )

Ah cheers guys ill give it some testing later on! (mine doesnt have the small patch of holes near the escape key so ill try shouting at the left speaker)

Oh and for vista 64, its the best way to solve my addiction to shooting zombies on the internet... :D (and civ4 beyond the sword for now)

Right started getting back on this problem...

Iv got an external mic plugged in which i cant seem to activate in either vista or osx!! Could someone point me to how to get it to work? (for refference i found out the build in mic works in osx but i cant fathom how to make it work in vista/left 4 dead)
