MBP power always on?

Hi all,

I dont move my MBP around a lot and recently keep the power cable plugged in all the time. Will this be ok or should I take it off so the battery dies down now and again?

I will be fine, just drain the battery every month or so. Also, calibrate it every so often.

@ justin, what do you mean by calibrate it? Do you have a link to software to do this? I'm pretty much in the same situation

I think he means where you drain the battery until the comp goes into sleep before full recharging it

personally I run mine with the battery out when it's connected to my external screen.

Why do you take the battery out?
This leaves you open to power outages shutting down your laptop and I've read that it also slows your MBP by half as it only uses half the processing power.

I didn't know that at all! Erm I guess some vague paranoia about doing the battery harm by constantly having it on charge, even though I've read that it's fine to do so.

I don't really take it out much so it's mainly sat on my desk, still if it's going to be slower then I should probably put the battery back in!
