MBP Screen Release Button Stuck

As the title says, the screen release button on my MBP is broken.

I can push it in to release the screen, but it doesn't spring back as much as it used to......

Picture's dont really show it well (iPhone camera

) but basically it's just pushed in further than it normally is.

Anything I can do to fix it? Or is it a case of take it to the shop.
It's a 14month old 2.4Ghz Santa Rosa, and I've got Applecare on it...

Looks like it's best to send it to Apple or visit one of their shops.

My issue with the latch button is not as bad as yours. The issue is that the paint on the button is wearing off. It looks similar to this post on MacRumors but it's no where near as bad

I'd rather not send it away as I can still use it (unless they offer a courtesy mac

) so I'll have to go into a shop sometime....

Seems funny though that now it's just passed a year old things start breaking

Yea mines starting to go at 11 months too :confused:

Oh well new MBP when the updates come!

Let's hope the new MacBook Pros uses a magnets like the current MacBooks instead of an actual latch
