Anyone have an idea of how much battery life using one of these can save you over a 5400 and 7200 rpm drive?

£300 is a lot for a 120Gb drive, but if it can get me an extra worthwhile bit of time out of the battery I would probably go for it.

I doubt it will be much!

The HDs are a few watts, which makes up between 1-10% of the system usage off the battery depending on what its doing.

Under seek, improvement, at idle? Hardly anything, 5 mins maybe?

Dude I'd say it was a lot more than 5 mins extra! The is no motors to drive or anything like that so really I would think a decent amount would be saved using a SSD!
