I was using my MBP with Dell 2407WFP. Great monitor and never had any problems with it

I'm also wondering exactly which Dell monitors work properly on a macbook in mirror mode?

I have a dell 22" and it can't get optimum res in mirror mode.

Mirror mode is exactly what it says - If your laptop does 1440x900 then it will display at 1440x900 on an external monitor in mirror mode. It won't change it to a higher resolution.

But when it is in mirror mode, it's displaying something much greater than 1440x900, even though it's still not right?

My previous 19" LG also worked in mirror mode!? (edit - apologises, the LG was 1440x900)

I'm missing something here...

Is the monitor scaling it up?

I'm not sure, it's just in 1680x1050. All the text seems whispy too, like in needs making bold.

Dells helpline is all but redundant too.
