Recently installed Windows 8 onto my nice new SSD. In a moment of sheer laziness and haste, I didn't bother disconnecting all other storage. I know it is best practice to and have always done so but just didn't think on this occasion.
It now appears I have my previous boot drive marked as active but not system and an additional marked as system, active and appears to have the MBR stored on it, as when trying to image the system it wishes to access drive M and C.
I know how to make a drive inactive and that there is the easy method of booting from windows CD and using repair console to repair the MBR.
Can the recovery console method be used by disabling all other storage, boot to Windows CD, use repair boot MBR command and then boot into the system without affecting anything installed or stored on C?

Need to move MBR onto C drive from M drive, I wish to keep all data on the SSD, formatting the other drives isn't a problem. How do I do this?
Cheers
