MC D800 - new speakers for poor audio?

I spent a few hundred on this "All in one" a few years back. I find the sound quite poor to be honest, the volume is generally low and it lacks treble and bass. Is it a simple case of upgrading to some new speakers for better audio experience?

Those sorts of systems tend to struggle to drive 'proper' speakers.
Yours says 8ohms which suggests it might work but it's only 10w per channel so it won't work well!
But it also has a line out so you'd be better with some decent powered speakers connected to those.
Lots of good options from £150 odd upwards.
