Can someone explain this to me please, basically i have a client who currently uses vscan 8.5i with the auto update architecture which just pulls the downloads in to the central server and everyone updates from there, fine.

However, we have just renewed their license and i would like to start using ePolicy so its more centrally managed but i dont really understand the product.

Does ePolicy replace autoupdate architect because when i went to install it on the server it complained that autoupdate was already there.

I know its epolicy > CMA > Vscan in terms of communcation but does ePolicy handle everything now?

Not sure about the autoupdate architect thing but used EPO a lot and yes it does handle everything. Complete PITA the setup though.

Just the excess of options with regards to virusscan and HIPS policy setup really. It's a little overcomplicated in some cases.

Also, in previous versions you set your application settings at the domain / root level and where needed removed inheritance on sub folders and changed at that level. Now you need a seperate policy for each little change which can then be applied to the group.

That all sounds massively overcomplicated, i still need to be 100% sure how to install this, i wonder if there are any decent guides about.

Used it where I am, about 200 users. Bit of a pain to setup and install on client machines.

But once all done works pretty well. Best thing is just to install it on a test server and test with a few client machines.
