McAfee EPO 4.5 Issues

We have just been updated to McAfee EPO 4.5 and are having a few teething problems to say the least.

1 - We have a single policy which is applied to all machines, it sits at 'my organisation'. We have updated the 'policy enforcement interval(minutes)' to '180' as we have been experiencing problems with mouse losing focus from the current window. This was previously set to 5 minutes. 'The agent to server communication' has also been changed to '180' minutes. The strange thing is these changes are not sticking on our McAfee Agents version '4.5.0.1270'. They are flicking back between the old policy settings and the new policy settings. I cant see for the life of me where the old policy settings can be coming from.

2 - Does anyone know why the mouse is losing focus every 5 minutes as if we could solve this it would help initially. I have noticed it keeps doing a 'on access scan' when this happens and the shield changes.

3 - two of our distributed repositories are also failing to update and we have no idea why this is happening.

The virus scanner is 8.7i (8.7.0.570)

Can anyone help at all?

What have you updated from, version 4.0?

This is a new installation.

If I get time today I'll have a look at our server config and see if anything stands out. Running an on access scan every 5 minutes is nuts by the way, the scans are complete resource hogs. We schedule ours to run once a week late on Friday afternoons when most people have gone home to minimise distruption.

We are trying to set it so it only runs every 180 minutes. We have changed our default policy to 180 and it looks like it applys but when a on access scan runs it reverts back to 5 minutes. I noticed a default McAfee policy that is read-only could this somehow be applying. We are unable to edit it with any of our accounts.
