McAfee Internet Security - For Mac

Recently upgraded to Fibre Broadband (BT Infinity) with this they provide a free Anti Virus/Internet Security installed this on the windows machines around the house.

Now since we pay for the service and it is provided inclusively I decided to see if it was available for Mac, which it was so I have decided to install and it acts as a Firewall and to stop malware/spyware etc.

I don't believe this will benefit my Mac since it copes with this fine all by itself, Anyone know any evidence otherwise?

Running it at the moment, don't notice it.. So may stick with it, surely it must add some security or does it over ride things such as Macs built in firewall for example.

As long as it doesn't cause you trouble and you feel better for it, then you might as well keep it running.

Plenty of Mac users have been caught out in the past by thinking they don't have to bother.

It's trash. If you must run AV, have a look at http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-antivirus-for-mac-home-edition.aspx

The most important things you can do are thinking before clicking and keeping all software including OSX itself, up-to-date.

Maybe it's time for an OSX antivirus and/or security sticky thread to keep all the advice in one place.
