McAfee or norton internet security?

I must say that now I'm on Vista x64 I have gotten lazy and just use the window's firewall. I've been using AVG since my gf's friend pointed me towards it in 2003 and I gotta say it's great!
Another Firewall worthy of recommendation is Comodo....great piece of software, that.

Do you have a better recomendation?

Not particulary, as i said i don't use software firewalls theyre a waste of time IMO, but comodo used to be known for being memory heavy and having a HUGE vunerability in it. Its probably patched over now, and i know its free so you can't complain but development just seems a bit half arsed because its free and it shouldn't.

Just get Norton Security 2008, it's a lot better than bloated McAfee's and the previous versions of Norton. It now uses a much smaller memory footprint. :)

Excellent thanks for the replies everyone!

I've been out of touch for ages with antivirus software, I got mcAfee for free and got norton for £17 when I built a new machine. I already knew about AVG free, as I install that on any machines I fix.

Thanks for your help everyone, I'm glad I asked now :) :D

I will get Avast as it's been recommended 8 times in this thread and comodo.

I've just installed avast was using avg but based on the recommendations thought avast was worth a try. The resident protection I take it that doesn't work in the free one? you can adjust the slider bar but then when you close and reopen it, its set back to disabled.
