It was only a matter of time before big Eck got the boot. He should have gone after the Inter Milan game with his head held high for taking us to the last 16 of the CL. I think time will show that the only reason he stayed is because Paul le Guen didn't want to take over half way through a disasterous season.
Even though we were on a ten game unbeaten run til the Hibs game we were not playing good football (possibly with the exception of the win over Hearts), nor were we winning convincingly. A slip in form was inevitable and with three tough games against Celtic, Villarreal and Hibs coming up I can see things getting worse before they get any better
