McDonald’s general discussion

Getting an air fryer was all it took for me to ditch McDonalds. I can quickly whip up a burger and some fries in less time than it takes to drive there and order. With the bonus of it being hot food, not lukewarm. If I am out would rather pop into a weatherspoons and get a burger there, I miss the breakfasts though, double sausage and egg McMuffin just cant be beat

McDonald's need to be careful because it's basically quicker and cheaper now to go in Spoons then McDonald's.

The last few times I've been to McDonald's they've been really slow, there purpose is "fast food" it's not cheap anymore either.

I think, like many food places in this country. They've fallen down the rabbit hole of offering too much choice which slows things down.

The reason many of them are slow is they’re absolutely swamped with delivery orders. The collection area is rammed with drivers from Just Eat, Uber and Deliveroo.

Ended up having a double maple bacon quarter pounder thingy the other day. Was probably the best burger I’ve had from Maccers. Might have been because it was hot and seemed freshly prepared. Chips were super hot too which was a bonus. Not cheap mind you!

I had the double maple tonight, taste was okay, not great. Sauce was nice and sweet but too much meat, burger patties sliding off each other.

This should have been a single quarter pounder. The bread to meat ratio was wrong.

On a personal note I enjoyed the lack of salad, tucking in with abandon only to find they’d slipped a couple of gerkins in! The **** they pull!

Thought about going last night, we occasionally stop on our way to North Norfolk as the one one Downham Market is roughly half way, we don't have McDonald's often as it is, but as it's on the way.....but last time we went it was nearly half an hour for the food to come out.

So ended up getting some microwave meals from M&S instead, which were actually lovely, pretty decent quality food, cheaper, and quicker.

If they had had the food out in minutes like you would expect we would have probably gone back, to be honest I was surprised how good M&S's microwave meals were, so next time it won't even be a decision. That McDonald's is in the bin now.

.....and once you are in the bin, you never come out.

I’m going that way now too. Stopped on the way home from a day out with the kids. 15 minutes after waiting in bay 2 I went in to see what was going on. They said it would be ready soon. A further 10 minutes later I was walking in to get a refund when they came out with our stuff.

£45 for slow, lukewarm food. They got customisations on three of the four meal orders wrong too.

Past few visits have been similar. Not quite as bad as this one but still slow, crap and relatively expensive.
