McDonald’s general discussion

Had the cheesy chicken stack and a double big tasty today. Both pretty decent for McDonald’s standards but I did end up getting them for free due to a balls up with their system and my app order :D
Does the double big tasty get cold in a couple of minutes like the standard one? The only hot thing on it is the burger, then they load it up with chilled items and the burger goes cold within only a couple of minutes.

Had a Big Mac last week was awful. Packed out with loads of lettuce to give it height and wafer thin patties. I don't mind the fries though, but only when just cooked and piping hot

Gave up on it after they cancelled the Triple Cheeseburger. That was a good burger and decent deal. The bigger double burgers either are pathetic like the Big Mac or don't have enough bread for the burgers, double 1/4 pounder.

Just had a double big tasty, decent burger and quite filling, has real lettuce, onion and tomato’s rather than the shredded stuff which puts it more inline with BK now

Haven't been to McDonalds in about a year - got fed up with luke warm fries and burgers, long waits and the price.

However, i was late coming home this week and grabbed the Chicken Fajitas wrap - **** me it was awesome! Dunno if i was just hungry or not, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

I get quite surprised with the posts in this thread regarding consistency, quality and price for McDonalds, I find that it stands the test of time over every other competitor in all of these aspects, yeah you can argue it's got dearer but what hasn't?

If anyone has better recommendations I am all ears :p.

My go to is a wrap of the day but it’s very rare I go to McDonald’s now. I don’t know what this new menu is about but it doesn’t seem very good?

As others I imagine I was very partial to the triple cheeseburger until they got rid :( all seems very gimmicky now and with the cost and long wait times even the kids don’t ask to go that much.

I don’t know what this new menu is about but it doesn’t seem very good?

Just them commercialising the "did you know about these secret menu items at McDonald's?" that get shared around social media - which are usually just 'buy two things and put them together'

the cost and long wait times

Yup its this part I find the worst about McDonalds.

Its supposed to be quick and cheap, now its neither, I dont really see the point, it was never about the food. They got no excuse about the wait times though, you used to be able to rock up at the counter, order your food and 2 minutes later they are handing you a tray. Now you are doing half their job for them ordering with those poxy screens that never bloody work properly and waiting 25 minutes for you food to some. Its what by far annoys me the most about McD's, it's quite literally not worth waiting for.

All of those take aways the big brand ones anyway have gone downhill. KFC is pretty terrible these days, and KFC is woooahhhh holy carp expensive as well, I mean its ridiculous you can borderline eat at a resturant for what they charge.

BK is also pretty expensive, the burgers are ok but not as good as they were, everything else BK do is rancid.

I used to really like Nando's and go quite a lot, but back in the day it was just over a fiver for a quater chicken and chips which I didnt think was too bad, but now Nando's got holy **** expensive as well.

I know a lot of it in energy costs, I appreciate its costs a LOT of money to have the fryers and all that catering equipment running 24/7 which is a shame.

I don't eat a lot of take away food anyway, even less these days.

Just had the Big Mac chicken thing. I'd give it 3/10. Couldn't really taste the chicken. No need for it really, I just always try the specials and what's new stuff. I recently had the one with the pineapple inside it and that was actually really nice.
It was about £7.50 I think. Bit of a joke.
Yeah I don't know why I went now. lol. It's coz it was close and it's dang cold out in London right now. Was snowing medium/heavy earlier for a spell but didn't settle.

I guess the secret menu is a desperate way to boost sales when people are trying to be healthy the most during January.

That chicken cheese and surf and turf look like they are clutching at straws and digging anything out of the back of their freezer to me. Nasty.
