Interestingly India is forecast to be the worlds third largest beef exporter. Kind of strange as 80.5% of the Indian population is Hindu.

I don't think so, sounds more like bending of words to fit a cause.

Edit - quick bit of reading. Apparently you're right and it's not in the new testament which is what most follow. Interestingly if they follow that idea. Then homosexuality, divorce and the rest is also ok. Lots of picking and choosing.

Ad far as im aware there are several repeals of the food laws in the new testament (peter being given all the animals and told to eat by god, and the "it's not what enters a man's mouth that defiles him but what comes out) but i munaware of any repealing of the other laws?
