The UK arm of McDonald's is planning a campaign to have the dictionary definition of a McJob changed.
The Oxford English Dictionary says it is: "An unstimulating, low-paid job with few prospects, esp. one created by the expansion of the service sector."

Lol. Im sorry but i worked in McD before and i think the definition is spot on. Instead of them spending useless amount of monies in the process why dont just improve from within? Anyone here think McD offers a prospect, stimulating and well paid job?

The McJob deffinition is spot on, I would know I used to work there. :p

Seconded.

Although I did slowly become to feel more and more like a god compared to my fellow colleagues and managers, I was still wasn't getting paid on that level.

I was a graduate entry. Went in as a second Assistant Manager after completing 5-6 months basic training. I quit after 7 months, I just woke up one morning and though this isn't for me. Only problem was that it was my morning to open the store, so all the staff/customers were still waiting to get in at 9am.

That said, I thought that the best managers were the ones who came 'up the ranks'. When you get up to Assitant manager level the money was reasonable, until you compare it to the hours you put in.

I worked there as well but the prospects looked pretty good and the guys that did stick it out ended up as regional managers and earn a hell of a lot more than I do with my degree etc.
