McDonalds

McD's is nowhere near as bad as people make out - one of the reasons they have establishments in most of the key locations in almost every city and country in the world - and their meals have just as much fat/salt and sugar as the average (advertised healthy) sandwiches soaked in mayo and mass produced chemical laden chicken these days. Even a McDs' meal has less fat and calories than an average Subway - but does that place get as bad a press ??

Believe me - if you ever have the misfortune of staying in a town, village / city where the majority food places sell nothing but battered Crickets and insects on street stalls - or raw fish (some still living) - or even rotten cabbage or crab covered in spices to mask the smell (served everywhere as a main dish) - and you see that McD's sign in the distance - it really will seem like Michelin star restaurant once you get that Big mac in your mouth ;)

I looked around me and saw the type of people in there, it ranged from teenagers, fatties, chavs and australians i sat there and ate my crap (bigmac and chips) and had to leave.

What a snob! The people in the restaurant didn't live up to your standards so you had to leave. Maybe write to them expressing your displeasure at the lack of businessmen and young attractive couples that are seen in the adverts.

McDonalds put way too much salt on the fries

McDonalds Large Fries : 0.9g Salt
McDonalds Med Fries : 0.6g Salt

Not that much in the scheme of things....

McDonalds Big Mac : 2.1g Salt
Subway Meatball / 6" : 4.7g Salt (without any additional sauces I may add)
Sainsburys 'Healthy' Salad Sandwich : 1.9g Salt.

:/ If you go early enough you will always see the usual array of suits having meetings in there so it's clientel (spelling?) is broader than you want to give them credit for.

I always think some here are just bashing it for the sake of fitting in and most likely go more often than would admit. I'm not saying it's the be-all of eating but it's not really that bad and I would imagine a lot better than half of the kebab shops the same people probably wander in to after a night out (see the recent kebab thread)

If this is true, then something like a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder is very healthy and a fantastic bodybuilding food (take note: Freefaller).

The problem is that, I don't believe what they are saying. Using pure, lean beef would work out very expensive.

In my local supermarket, when I goto buy lean mince, it is very expensive.

No this doesn't make fantastic bodybuilding food AT ALL if you know anything about nutrition and exercise. :) And since it's something I know more than a little about you can rest assured I shan't be touching McD's or other fast foods, just as I haven't for the past 6-7 years. :)

Go on...

I didn't eat McDonalds for years, but after living in a country where the closest thing to western food was McD's, I quickly learned to love it.

This thread makes me want a chicken sandwich!

.... There are loads of good burgers to be had here. Gourmet Burger comes to mind...

Also burger king is a lot better than McD. I refuse to go do McD as well as KFC....so gross.

I dont mind McDonalds and I'll maybe get something from there once in a few months. Ones near me seem to be scum magnets though, car parks always have a good few chavs and generally it seems the average customer would rather scatter their rubbish out of the window than walk five feet to a bin.

I do have an irrational hatred of the nickname 'Maccy Ds' though, not sure why but it bugs the crap out of me to hear people saying it .

less fat than the average subway? rubbish lol. 490 calories, 30g's of fat in a bigmac WITHOUT fries, 425 calories and 20grams of fat in a 6" italian BMT.

you're delusional if you thing mc'd are healthier than subways.
