MCE colour?

Hi
Ive got MCE running on a HCTP, when I boot up Bios and the windows start up screen are in colour but when windows loads it changes to black and white. How can I fix this? Is this a software or hard ware problem?

System spec is
AMD 2800
1Gb Ram
Gigabyte 6600gt VIVO NX66t series

Its conected to a normal PAL TV by an svideo cable and the break out box from the grafix card

Could be a software problem. What happens when you connect a monitor to the VGA socket on the graphics card?

with the monitor its fine, thats the strange thing.

That's odd :S Is the S-Video connection to the TV direct? Does it go from the S-Video output on the graphics card directly to the S-Video input on the TV without any convertors on the way? It's not changed to RGB at all is it?

It goes from the card to an adapter that came with the vivo card (this is not svideo but look similar, it has svideo, Pr, Pd/AV Output, AV in and svideo in. from there i have it connected via svideo to the tv.
Im going to ge a new svideo cablr to morrow as the one I have is rather old, however I do not think that this is the problem.

maybe the output is set to ntsc instead of pal?

is your tv input set to svideo as it will be black and white if not, with mine i have to press AV2 and then press it again to get avs2

you tested your memory. it could be a hardware fault you know.

it was the svideo cable, replaced it and its fine.
