Since moving my MCE 2005 box over to an HDMI connection (via a DVI convertor), I'm having a problem with the mouse cursor. Usually the cursor disappears after a few seconds of inactivity and this works fine but at random times, often when switching the TV on or switching inputs, there's an hourglass cursor (or sometimes just a normal cursor or even a black square) in the middle of the screen and I have to move the mouse before it will then disappear as normal.
It looks like the PC/gfx card is detecting the output device on the other end of the HDMI connection. When the TV is off or the input switched then the device obviously "disappears" from the HTPC's perspective and then re-appears when switched on/back and this is causing the cursor to display.
Does anyone know how to get around this and force the cursor to stay hidden?
