MCE Remote - Missing the reciever, will any ir reciever work?

Morning all,

Had a rubbish morning, have been building a new MCE pc at home to hook up to the TFT, good times.

However, the remote arrived this morning and it had no reciever supplied. boo
Will any USB to IRda reciever resolve this issue or will only the genuine reciever work??

contact the seller tell him that it was missing. if it doesnt come with reciever then send it back as the microsoft remote is infra red and need a direct path, also the microsoft base comes with wire that splits into two, widening the angle of transmission.
