So who's going this year? Zowghi and I are heading up on the 28th, hoping it won't be crazy busy (though no doubt it will be).
For those of you who've been in the past, what are the things to look out for?

I went last year. While it was good, it's a lot to pay to be advertised to all day. People say you can get good deals, but I didn't see anything that beats online pricing. It's a good place to try and look at a bunch of kit if you're after something new.

Best part of the day was getting my free pack of 3 neck tubes things :D

I'm quite looking forward to seeing the new Africa Twin and sitting on all the different adventure bikes. I want a new bike but insurance here is crazy expensive, if I can convince myself into something less fancy that would be good.

I'm going again with my son and dad.

I fancy a change but struggling to find a bike that 'does it all' as well as the GS. Hoping the KTM Superduke GT will be on show

I went today. Don't think there was many good deals unless you were after leathers or helmets but overall it was a really good day out with mates. First time I've been in years. Used to be much better for bargains 10 years ago but as a day out I rate it. :)

Anyone been to the London Motorcycle Show - how does it compare to the 'Big' NEC show?

Birmingham is a bit far from Kent but I may go to the London show as it's only 40 miles away from me. Be nice to sit on/fondle/drool over some of the new bikes :D

Going Thursday and managed to get a free ticket through work. All I need to do on Thursday morning is not gravitate towards the car and I'll get free parking as well.

Heading up there in the morning, looking forward to it.

I've been a few times, not as big and it doesn't have as many manufacturers turn up, but I've bagged better deals. Picked up my Shoei XR-1100 there for £249 with a free pinlock and dark smoke visor, which was current stock and not shop soiled. Retailed for around £400 at the time (Feb 2012).

May seem like the poor cousin compared to the NEC show, but still worth a look. :)

Thanks - yeah I figured it wouldn't be as big, might be worth a trip up the M20 and into London on the Saturday :) I'm trying to save money for the new bike so no new kit for me, although a set of Furygan leather trousers at a decent discount wouldn't go amiss....

Few pics from the NEC today.

For some reason it was all about Yamaha (for me).

Highlights: LC's LC's..everywhere. I love 2 strokes, that is my 2016 task, get a stroker. Seeing the JPS Norton RC588 fired up, those brought back some memories seeing them in the British Superbike Championship in the early 90s with my Dad. The Triumph Bonneville rehash (especially that Thruxton R..) and loads of 'old boys' trying to work their camera phones whilst reminiscing over the old Bonny, lovely sight :)

Not so Good stuff: Super Duke GT didn't impress me in the flesh, it was parked next to the 1290 Adventure and that looked much more 'the part'. Ducati 959 stunning bike ruined by those god awful exhausts. The all new GSX-R1000, wasn't rubbish, but it wasn't nothing special either.

What's it like there during the week? I'm going tomorrow, I've only been on weekends before, and I'm hoping for a bit of space.

It was very quiet until around midday then the crowds came in. Nowhere near as bad as the weekend though.

I was there thursday with a mate and picked up a 2016 model X-lite X-802RR Ultra Carbon helmet for £280 including a dark visor and pinlock. Was checking on-line last night at prices, the cheapest was £399 just the helmet (but had no stock) the normal going price for places that actually had stock was £450 just the helmet. To me, the price at the show was a damned good bargain with a saving of at least £120 but more like £170. Either way, more than paid for what was a very good day out :D

Nice! I never find good deals at these things or on the high street :(

Your not alone, as a rule i don't either (oh we've sold out of the offer sir, can do you £5 off of this one though). Just lucked out on thursday, my mate got one as well with different graphics for £250.

Went yesterday, it was a good day out, it was not actually that busy either. No real bargains to be had as usual and not many new bikes.. but a good day out non the less.
