Looking to start my MCSE this week,

I will be paying for it personally, but I have a choice of several options.

MCSE and CCNA or MCSE and A+/N+, both include MCITP Server Admin 2008 as well.

Both options cost the same, but which would be the better to take, obviously the CCNA and MCSE are different systems so any future job may use one and not the other, but the MCSE with A+/N+ will benefit a windows environment but mean your out of luck with Cisco systems.

Any input appreciated.

Out of either the CompTIA or Cisco cert to go alongside it I'd be picking the Cisco one every time.

imho the CCNA will trump the N+, and the MCSE will trump an A+. Having the MCSE should tick the 'windows environment' box, more so than the A+/N+.

Personally I'd be going straight to the MCITP certifications rather than lingering with the older MCSE.

On another note do you find that there's any worthwhile IT work that ever comes up in the bay?? Don't think I've ever seen one decent job ad for something local, always has to be Exeter or Plymouth!
