Hi,

I posted some time ago that I was having cooling problems in a Lian Li V600B. I thought I had solved them with some VERY big YS-Tech 120mm fans, but with the hot weather the Intel chip in there is just throttling itself.

Can anyone see any reason why, if I bolt the heatpipes of an mCubed Borg to the Lian-Li V600 chassis, I won't get good cooling?

And I have an Eclipse 62 with AC Freezer 7 Pro on standby just in case you think it won't work.

Nobody will have tried it, are you thinking of sticking some AS5 onto it and using it as an extension to the heatsink, if the heapipe works well enough it probably would work, how well I have no idea but would be very nice if it did.

Maybe mod a fan on to cool aswell, if it doesnt work wont take long to lock up anyway. I would test using a processor that will throttle and turn off just to be safe incase it does not work. :)

Let me know how this goes, could be quite interesting.

No, it's the fact that you cannot use a full-height cooler in the Lian-li. With an AC Freezer 7 Pro fitted to the Lian-li and the PSU fed through the hole in the back there is no cooling problem. The stock intel cooler, a Thermaltake Golden Orb and a Nitrogon NT-03 have all failed to adequately cool the processor with the side panels on and the PSU in place.

As it happens, the Borg turned up in rather more parts than it's supposed to, so that experiment has been put on hold for a few days. I'm going to see if I can get hold of a Reserator instead.

One thing with the reserator, room temperature matters quite a bit to them. :)

Baddass has a guide for some internal tubing mod, that nocked a couple of deg of my temps so its worth having a look at. :) (Check monitors of all places for his site, its on there.)
