mdp to dp to vga?

Currenly running a 5850 in eyefinity to 3 vga monitors(1680x1050) and all is great(dvi-vga,dvi-vga,dp-vga).5040x1050

I'm thinking of upgrading to a 6950 and have noticed they all come with a mini displayport. Can I use my current cable setup but just fit a mdp to dp adaptor(£5) and then plug my displayport to vga into it?

Yes, that will work fine.

The mini-DP to DP cables are passive and just swap over the pins.
