ME 4 prequel or sequel

How about making a better ending for ME3 first ? rather than just A, B or C endings ?!

I'd personally prefer a prequel though, I'd like to see more lore on the protheans. That said I don't use twitter :p

they made a patch for alternate ending. I didn't bother DL it though

anyway I just hope they give it more RPG feel next time around

Wasn't that great to be honest. Cleared up one or two things, about it.

I'd prefer a seperate game though, completley new characters/story.

I'd prefer a sequel, reason being is below... which I've spoilered as it contains some references to the end of ME3.

They really need to make a sequel to ME3 to wrap up the current storyline and leave it in a way that allows for prequels and sequels to be developed properly and with a "clean slate", even if those sequels or/and prequels aren't based on Shepherd at all. If you look at how ME3 ended, it was basically "Whatever you did over 3 games didn't really matter cause you're screwed either way".

They need a rosey garden ending where most of the universes problems are near enough fixed, otherwise it's going to be hard to develop a new game that is built on a universe that is doomed regardless of whatever you going to be doing in a new game. It's the same for a prequel, whatever you do ultimately doesn't matter as Mass Effect 3 so bluntly and annoyingly pointed out.

So yeah, either make an expansion to Mass Effect 3 to wrap it up properly or make a sequel to Mass Effect 3 involving the Shepherd and crew characters and wrapping that up properly before attempting to move on to a new story arch.

I think I'm one of the few people out there that didn't mind the way ME3 ended
I was pleased that it wasn't a 'everything is fixed and everyone lives happliy ever after' hollywood ending; the story always seemed more complex than that and ever since ME1 I knew Shepard was going to have to sacrifice himself at the end

I'd prefer a seperate game though, completley new characters/story.

I'm happy with it staying in the same universe with the same races (plus some new ones).
As for whether a sequel or prequel, I think a sequel would be better, the current trilogy covered a lot of the history concerning the Protheans so I'd like to see it the new ones set quite a long time in the future when the initial fallout from ME3 has long ended and new challenges are facing the races.
