Hey guys,

Sorry im regurgitating the same worries over and over..its just I have spent a lot on my whole PC kit and want to make sure im doing things right and gettting the most from my system.

I fired up a game of Far Cry : New dawn and was performing worse then I last played it (around 3 weeks ago), I was getting around 145-150 fps on 1440p ultra, but now it was around 85-90 fps on the same settings!

I ran the inbuilt benchmark and got these sorry looking numbers??

Then I decided to fire up BFV, and went to a 64 man multiplayer game, at 144p ultra and was bouncing arouond at 200 fps and dipping to around the lower end of 150 fps at busy times..

Im really getting frustrated at fps whoreing! I really should just turn off the FPS counters? Or is the performance im getting (spec in sig) warrant a concern?

Thanks guys.

Do you have a screenshot of your settings? And are you sure you were always running the scale at 1.7? I've not got the game but know in others that it's easy to change sliders in settings menus when actually trying to scroll down the menu itself.

At 1.7 scale you are getting up towards 4k so the numbers don't seem unrealistic.

Also worth posting an image of something like afterburner or GPU-Z over the same period to see if anything is downclocking or it is indeed sat at 99% usage

Tbh, I am mostly happy as long as I get a constant over 60 fps and there are no sudden drops to cause any stuttering.

Yeah, im with you, just I wanna feel like im getting as much as I can from a 3080ti, but I suppose its for 60+ fps for a sustained period of time in games, not just getting a million fps on games..

In be concerned your playing BFV it's crap.

I dont play much, I just use that as a "guide" I suppose due to the CPU and GPU being quite taxed on it.

Thanks Finners, here is a benchmark from Watch Dogs I have just done, its at V.High 1440p no RT and DLSS on "balanced". It contains my specs

Oh, I didnt realise the setting for 1.7 scale, will look into that..

In MSI AB my GPU is as max usage most of the time, temps never go above 68c under load too..

@Finner A quick update mate, I tried to lower the scaling to 1.0 as a base, and was averaging around 150-170 fps! :)

Didnt look quite as nice, but hey, it can always go up, the main thing I wanted to make sure my CPU / GPU were not underperforming..

How the scaling was changed I have not a clue, but know now at least :D

Thant's good then, If your GPU is at max usage then you know you are getting all the performance out of it.

True. What im going to start doing is to eleviate some "unnessacery" usage, im going to start capping the FPS in games to what my monitor is set to (120Hz), just to run a little cooler and quieter and tbh havent noticed any performance differences in this option, when I tried it on BFV.
