Hey, you may remember i asked for help with a spec me about a month ago, i decided to wait for ivybridge and we're closing in on that now, just wondered if you'd like to help me get the IB build speced :D?

Budget is £1500 i guess, need all (not keyboard mouse)

Monitor
Case
mobo
cpu +cooler
ram
ssd
hdd
psu
gpu
OS
and any extras (don't need optical drive, going to hijack from an old pc for os install)

What i'm thinking though is:
Corsair 600T
z77 mobo - need spec
3570k, i know disappointing initial reviews, but was never planning to clock the nuts off it
k2 cooler
8GB low profile corsair vengence (feel free to offer suggestion)
128GB M4
500GB barracuda?
750W xfx xxx modular
680? kind of like nvidia
monitor? need help :D
os: 7 home premium, was thinking retail, yeah i know oem is cheaper but it niggles at me that its locked down to a mobo, how do you go about upgrades, call them up?

also i have a 10% discount code, only a few days to use it, was thinking of grabbing case ssd hdd os ram psu quickly and then debating the other items?

so yeah... any comments or suggestions? thanks

EDIT: 3d doesn't interest me.

no but the rest of it is... so plenty to talk about. I've pretty much decided upon the 3570k, its the mobo/monitor/others i need help with, just assume IB is more expensive (2500k is like 170 atm so lets assume IB will be 220 for some leeway).

EDIT: added to first post, 3D doesn't interest me, but thanks for spec, ill read some reviews on monitor/mobo specifically.

EDIT2: Don't worry about the IB being more expensive, 1.5k was a conservative amount, ill more likely have 1.7 but don't want to needlessly go over.

Thanks for all the replys guys, not sure on the xfx 850 vs the cm 600w, no doubt the 600w would do the job but maybe not leave room in a year or two for sli? (only looking 2way), then again with 1 screen i shouldn't need to sli a 680 to quickly should i?

Was thinking i should only really need a smallish HDD (500 odd) but quickish for programs/games not going on the ssd, im more than happy to add a third completely data drive later, if that makes a difference to any of the specs.

Thanks again for all the help, reading reviews atm.

EDIT: any reason you changed the XL2420T to the XL2410T stulid?, i see the price difference, and haven't compared reviews for both, but instantly noticed a customer review on OcUK that said the 2410 was poor as a general usage monitor.... any comment?

Single GTX680 with a single 120Hz screen isnt even taxing it.

on a slightly related topic, i'd like to at some point go for a multi monitor setup, for general usage only, single screen gaming.

It's just i have 5 screens at work, going to 1 is a bit of a downsize for general usage.

So any reccomendation on extra monitors i could go with? (for a 3 screen setup), no need for those ones to be 120Hz i guess, but the same resolution+similar size would be preferable.

It's a bit tricky getting multiple monitors working. I would get two good monitors. Or start with one, like a U2411, or a decent 1080p. Then get another 22'' if you want a peripheral display. I have a 2407WFP (1200p) and a 2209WA (1050p). Pretty much ideal.

Like i said im none to bothered about surround gaming after thinking about it, i just want extra screen space during general usage.
