Just thought id share with with you lot, its me 43" Pioneer plasma. By far the best picture quality on any plasma display i have ever seen, very, very impressed with it. Ran it at reduced settings (Contrast/brightness etc) for the first 250 ish hours and then set it up as best i can :D . Oh and the xbox360 looks superb in HD :) Excuse the pics, they really don't do it justice .

I agree the best pic quality of any plasma out there and dare i say it of any flat screen avalable at the moment, Ive had mine for 3 weeks now and it still amazes me how good it looks......with and without being turned on ;)
One thing though, i dont think your Sony speakers are placed right for their optimal for performance :)
What settings have you got yours set to now youve run in ?, i used the DVE disc to set mine up last week and ten realised that every input has its own settings so id spent about 3 hours and id only set the DVD up  so i had to do the rest by eye. Also give a DVD player like the Denon 1920 a go via HDMI, its hard to put it into words but using that DVD player on my 436 looks stunning.

Cheers andy, i'll do that, was thinking of a new dvd player as well :) Yeah the speakers off the dav are there because theres no flaming room anywere else for them now lol

As far as the pic quality, i can't see much touching this for a while yet :)

These are great Plasmas, agree with the speaker position comment that just looks stupid imo ruining that nice alphason stand. You may of been better with small satelites than floorstanders perched on a glass stand, a bit of bad planning on your part their perhaps...

The only downside i know of for this Pioneer is with PAL recorded material @ 50Hz on a MCE HTPC not playing correctly seems a few owners have had trouble with this but overall yeah its a great display.

btw wheres the 360?

Can anyone who has one of these pioneer plasma's and Sky digital tell me if when scrolling through whats on other channels or when there is text scrolling across the screen they get a tearing effect on the text itself. The picture is spot on but when for example I have got sky sports on the text across the bottom is sometimes blurry and is tearing any ideas?
I will try and post a pic if I work out how to do it.

For the scrolling text thing, disable Pure cinema, that should sort that out. IMO its better with it off anyway.

Like i said previous theres no room for the speakers to go infront anymore, i had the dvd setup before the plasma, and just thought it would fit lol ahh well, never mind. I think i'm gonna take the bottoms off and fit them to the wall.

Nice setup ODA :)

Nice setup

How long did it take for your DVD recorder to arrive ?, i think its been about 2 weeks since i got my letter back saying it would be upto 24 days.
Also how did you get the DVD ? it said you could either post it or register on line, i did it online but couldnt find any mention of the free DVD :(, to be honest i forgot all about the DVD untill you just mentioned it.

were abouts online did you register for a free dvd recorder, i've herd a few peeps doing this, can you point me in the right direction ? :) Thanks :)

You should have got a With Love promotion leaflet with your plasma which you sent to Pioneer with your receipt. You had a choice of dvd recorder, mountain bike, mobile phone, gym equipment or car stereo.

It took about 2 weeks from when you get your letter from Pioneer confirming your free gift, as for the free dvd I just registered the plasma on pioneers website here

They just sent the free dvd so I don't think there is any choice.
