Following my PC rebuild and upgrade to W7 64bit, I finally got round to reinstalling Mass Effect 1 & 2 yesterday evening. Well, ME1 went on okay but the ME2 install kept hanging on the same file towards the end of Disc 2. Tried three times including running setup off the DVD as admin rather than autorun, also installing outside the X86 folder in case it was permissions malarkey.
No visible damage on the disc but it is the one stored in the cardboard slip.
Before I consign the discs to the bin and buy a new copy, is anyone aware of particular issues with installing the game on W7. A Google indicated there have been some issues but it's hard to cut through the waffle from pirates who are trying to crack it.
The plan was to play ME3 initially, then go back and start over from ME1 playing through all three games taking my Shepard with me.
