Measure something with phone/camera?

There is a built in app on iOS that works well but I don’t no about Android.

I wouldn't trust it to the mm. But the built in apple one is quite cool.

I've used both the standard ones on Huawei p30 pro and Pixel 4 and they were surprisingly accurate...just a few MM out.

The iOS measure app isn’t that accurate in my experience. Accurate to within a centimetre up to around 50cm and then progressively worse.

To be honest, I don’t trust my Stanley tape measure to be accurate to a millimetre. I’ll grab a steel rule or if I have to be short accurate, a vernier calliper.

Requires a phone that has Google's ARCore (or whatever they're calling it these days), it's not too bad but on the mm scale I wouldn't use it for that either.

vernier callipers get nick named as very near callipers, they are ok but not as good as micrometres, it does depend and what the OP is trying to measure mind you,

+-1mm according to OP, for which a micrometer is massively overkill, as are verniers really!

tbh i wasn't sure if the op just meant accurate or literally 1mm- as in +/- 0.5 of a mm it is also dependant on the size of the object in question as to the easiest and/or best tool to use
