I'm looking at upgrading to a mechanical keyboard in the near future and have narrowed it down to a selection of 3 similarly priced keyboards: Das Keyboard Ultimate Edition (With cherry mx blue switches), Ducky Shine II (cherry mx blue and blue backlight) and the corsair k70. I would just like to know from people who have used/ owned any of these keyboards what they are like, and any pros and cons with them.

Your best bet, in my opinion, would be to jump on YouTube and watch the reviews on there. It definitely helped me in my decision. Much better than reading a few lines of text from people convincing you to buy their choice of keyboard. ;)

I have recently bought the K70 and am very very pleased with it. Setting up macro keys is extremely easy, comfy, nice to type on and not to "clicky" ( was a big bonus for me, due to it not winding up the missus ), back lit keys are very nice, can set in different brightness levels or even off. 10/10 from me for the k70.

The issue here is, a lot of people have the K70 and the majority of those people won't have experience of Das or Ducky, who are considered two of the very best manufacturers out there.

The K70 is a very fine keyboard, no question, but the Shine II and more so the Das would probably edge it for me, but I suspect they'll cost more. Then you have considerations like features, I'd hate to use a keyboard without a volume wheel and media controls, or a wrist rest, which a lot of the Filco-type manufacturers don't have. With that in mind I probably wouldn't get either of them and that's why I've got the G710+.

What about the strike 7 for the best keyboard ever? http://www.cyborggaming.com/prod/strike7.htm

More like utterly horrendous, terrible, overpriced garbage.

What makes it garbage? It looks great and has great specs aswell..?

It looks horrible.

It's modular, which I imagine isn't very useful at all and will impact the overall quality of the build.

It's covered in gimmicky rubbish.

It's not mechanical.

It's way too expensive when there are vastly superior keyboards for half of the price, or less.

I'd be genuinely shocked if anyone bought one.

What keyboards do you think are better?

Pretty much any of the decent mechanical ones, such as the ones mentioned in this thread, or the large mechanical keyboard thread.

Even if you didn't want a mechanical keyboard there are far better ways to spend your money than on the Strike 7.
