mechanical keyboard for typing

Hi,

I'm after a mechanical keyboard for typing and looking for some recommendations. I've done some research and found that brown cherry keys are best.

I've read people recommend filco keyboards and they do look nice and ideal but I do not want to spend £120 if I can help it. If there is no other choice then will do.

It will be for general use and programming/developed.

Budget:£60-70

They are. The general consensus is blues for typing, blacks for gaming, browns for the middle ground.

Reds are best for gaming

Black are best for gaming and typing

Blue = clicky with a particular spring weight.
Brown = bumpy with a particular spring weight.
Black = no click or bump with a particular spring weight.
Red = no click or bump with a lighter spring weight than the blacks

Blues and Browns are supposedly "better" for gaming than Reds.

Reds are the same actuation force weight as browns, just without the bump. Before reds became more popular people would "ghetto mod" red switches by replacing the spring in black switches with the spring from brown switches.

I quite like my brown switches for gaming and typing they are really quite nice.

QPad looks good.
Cherry also good but from the pics reminds me of the spectrum era

Browns are just meant to be "quieter" blues really.

I've tried blues and browns I actually like both though the blues feel a bit more natural for typing, they are a bit more noisy obviously.

Have a Filco here and would recommend one, very study and easy to use.

MK-80 with blues. Used mostly for typing since I've got it, and when used for gaming it has been brill!
