Hi,

Does anybody know any where / anybody that could replace one mechanical switch on a cooler master master keys?

I have stripped it down and have a replacement switch but I don't have the kit (and probably skill) to desolder the old one and solder a new one in. I'm west Midlands based but happy to travel to get it repaired.

Cheers,
Marc

With only two legs and "through PCB hole" desoldering component would be very simple.
Same for soldering in new switch.

There should be small tabs on two sides to release swtich from that support plate.
Like on left side in this image:

Traveling farther would fast cost more than basic soldering iron, solder braid/wick and little bit of new solder.

As EsaT said, an electronics repair store may overcharge for a very simple repair job and if you travel it would be a bit of an unnecessary additional cost.

A cheap soldering iron (not too high wattage, I use a 25W), a de-soldering pump and a small amount of 60/40 flux solder and you can repair this yourself nice and easy.

If any other switches go in the future this could save you a fair bit of money doing this yourself.

Cheers for the replies guys.

I have looked at attempting it myself but I think I would just rather pay somebody who has some experience in the area. I was hoping there might be somebody local who could help out.

I'll try and call some electrical repair shops when I get a bit of spare time.

Thanks
