Hello

Looking for a replacement mechanical keyboard. Had a Steel series M800 but constantly disconnected and eventually died in a few weeks, googling suggests i'm not the only one with similar issues, so will be avoiding Steelseries. Fortunately OC turned around a very rapid RMA, so looking again.

Dont want to pay £200, but somewhere in the £100 range if its going to last a long time.

Havent had one before and my very limited use of the Steelseries hasnt swung me particularly on lights or key volume. Lighty stuff isnt a massive priority but nice to have, noise , probably prefer a quieter one like the Apex, but not overly important.

Mostly play FPS, dont do a load of work at home on my own PC , but could be used for occasional coding etc.

Thanks !

Personally (though everyone will be a little different depending on approach) I swear by MX Black keys for FPS gaming - they do need a bit of force to activate but just enough to eliminate most accidental key presses while being able to ride near the activation point for fast paced action where you might be reacting on the fly - unfortunately doesn't look like OcUK have stock currently but if if you aren't looking for lots of extra fancy features then the Mionix Zibal series is relatively inexpensive and in my experience the design is durable.

I would have preferred cherry blacks myself, but the browns on that CM are lovely and really stable (unlike the reds on my ASUS claymore core). Cherry blacks seem to be really hard to get hold of these days.

Comes down quite a bit to personal style - personally I find browns suit a much more deliberated/pro-active approach to gaming while I tend to play much more reactively on the fly.
