Mechanical keyboard suggestions?

I'm currently using a series 1 Logitech G15, and whilst it's served me well for a long time, I'm thinking that perhaps I'd like to go with a mechanical replacement. I primarily play RPGs/MMOs, with the odd occasional FPS. I also am in the process of writing a novel, so am used to typing for a few hours at a time. Whilst the G15 has been fine for this in the main, I'd like a better feel to my typing.

Noise is a bit of an issue, I share my home office with my wife, and don't want to disturb her too much when typing. Consequently, I'm thinking that Cherry MX Brown switches might suit.

I don't use the screen on the G15 much, mainly just for a clock and occasionally for seeing who is talking during a MMO session, so am not too worried by the loss of that. I do occasionally use the macro keys, but certainly do not need 18 of them! I use the media controls all the time, so would like to have a keyboard with them. And the two USB ports are very useful, so it'd be great to keep those too.

So... which mechanical keyboard might suit? Anyone else had any experience of moving from the G15 to a mechanical keyboard? What did you end up missing?

Any answers appreciated.

I have a friend with reds, who also types quite a lot, and plays similar games, and he reckons that the reds don't offer enough feedback when typing. I quite like the idea of the tactile bump on the browns.

At the moment, I'm tending towards the Corsair K70 or the Gigabyte Aivia Osmium. More likely the former, cos I'm a sucker for its aesthetic.
