Mechanical Keyboard with Media Keys

I used an X4 previously and switched to this keyboard, hold Fn for 3 secs. and the function keys operate as play/pause, stop, track skip back, track skip forward, mute, vol. down and vol.up. The version linked with Cherry browns actually has white backlighting, there is a version with Cherry red keys which has the red backlighting and another with Cherry blues which has blue backlighting. Do you have a budget, do you know which keys you prefer, other than media keys is there anything else you'd like (backlight, small form factor, USB sockets, etc.) ?

Corsair K70? I picked one up yesterday and am really preferring it over my ageing Logitech it replaced. I've got a Qpad MK-50 (Blue) I use at work so I knew it's worth paying extra for a mechanical keyboard. The K70 has a volume dial, mute key, stop, previous, next and play/pause buttons. Very solidly built and really good for games.

Had a Qpad MK-85 for a few months and it's been bliss. Nice Cherry MX Reds, red backlighting, USB ports and audio ports for headphones/mic.

I don't know what keys I would prefer?

How drastic is the difference between red and brown?

I don't want it to be crazy loud, so if one of those is significantly louder than the other it would be great to know.

I do game, so something that takes that into account will be good too.

Thanks for all your replies guys.

I love the volume scroller on the corsairs

Want to replace my k90 with the full-mech k95 eventually. I bought this k90 second hand for peanuts though, so I'm in no hurry.

I went from a Sidewinder X6 to a Max Blackbird with brown switches, and it's a really nice change. The keyboard has a nice sound to it as I type and I'm not finding it that much of a stretch to make the change. Ofcourse, it's a tenkeyless model, so it really depends if you can live without the number pad or not. If I find that I miss the keypad, I'll get a separate USB one.

The Blackbird has media keys on an Fn layer, which I'm slowly getting used to, especially compared to just twisting the volume wheel on the X6.

So far, I'm very pleased with the change.
