Before it ever graced a computer screen, Battletech was a turn based hex-grid war game, and it was sodding magnificent. If there's finally a decent computer conversion I'll die a happy man :D
 
I can still remember particularly memorable moves from the boardgame, which I haven't played in about 20 years now. The charge/ram and death from above rules were particularly fun :)

I wonder if they're going to port the ruleset or just doing their own thing. Need more info :mad:
 
Funny enough it was a charge I was thinking of - I charged a Jenner across half a map at a mate's atlas and completely mangled it. IIRC the damage to the attacker was based on his tonnage, not the target's, so the Jenner walked away with only moderate damage.

Looking more closely at the screenshots, they seem to follow the terrain types in the original game - rough, light woods, heavy woods, water. With a bit of luck the whole ruleset is being ported.
